I let the waitress/hostess know that the checks will be in 3 separate transactions. My cousin said the greens and candied yams were tasty. The chicken was way underseasoned (bland□), some parts of the chicken was bruised, the hostess/waitress brought syrup to our table and it was the publix(grocery store) brand. reasons ppl gave while calling out of work). (The waitress/hostess informed us that they were short staffed due to various. The waiter turned out to also be the cook. Wait(I didn't mind that) The hostess turned out to be the waitress as well. So DISAPPOINTED□ DONT believe the hype! There was a 30min. In summary, now that I’ve “been there, done that”, I have no desire to wait for an hour to eat there again. Anything beats standing up outside waiting for a table. Keep this in mind, and check that bench for available seating as well. However, on the way out of the restaurant, I noticed that there was also a wait bench on the opposite side of the restaurant to the left side of the front door. Also, another tip on available seating while waiting to get a table – I had only noticed the wait bench on the side of the restaurant where the hostess desk/cashier is located, i.e., when entering the restaurant’s front door, on the right side. I bought an oversized coffee mug for my daddy for around $10.00. There’s a lot of memorabilia on the walls, even a pair of Gladys’ shoes! Also, you can purchase cups, mugs, and other souvenirs at the hostess desk. The chicken was fried to perfection, not overcooked or undercooked, but it was very bland. Once our food was served, the waitress came to check on us, maybe 2 times – she was not very attentive, but it was extremely busy so I guess she was doing the best she could. We both ordered the Midnight Train (four fried chicken wings and a waffle) and an Uptown (lemonade and tea). Once seated in our booth, service was kinda slow. This was, of course, a life saver, because we were able to sit during nearly 50 minutes of our hour wait time as opposed to standing outside. Well, that was a great idea because as soon as the “wait bench” became free, I scooted inside to claim a spot for me and my friend. I conveniently made an effort to get a spot right near the window so that I could see inside. So, while standing outside, I kinda scoped things out to figure out how I could get a seat inside on the “wait bench”. Well, if it were cold or rainy that day, I would not have waited outside in the cold or rain. They will not allow you to stand up and wait inside, so unless you’re seated in the waiting area, you must wait outside. After putting my name on the wait list, I had to return outside to wait because the waiting area inside was full – it’s a bench that seats around 4-6 people, depending on how cozy you wanna get. A couple from Birmingham told us that they parked right next door for $3.00. My friend parked right around the corner at a meter. Since this location is downtown, there are parking lots next door where you can pay to park. I was advised that we would have a 40 minute wait, so they were definitely a little bit off on that wait time estimate. Our name was added to the seating wait list around 12:20, and we were seated over one hour later, around 1:25. My friend dropped me off in front of the restaurant so that we could get our name on the list, and he went on to park. I had never been there before, and was looking forward to dining at this popular Atlanta eatery, which apparently ALWAYS has a wait. I ate at Glady and Ron’s Chicken and Waffles in the early afternoon on New Year’s Eve.
